Best hollywood movies you must watch

If you're looking to get into the movies and don't know where to start, look no further. In this list, we've compiled a list of the best films ever made. From classics like Citizen Kane to modern-day hits like Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy, these are all films that you need to see at some point in your life.

Inception

Inception is a 2010 action-thriller film directed by Christopher Nolan and written by Christopher and Jonathan Nolan, based on the short story Identity by Joseph Campbell. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page. The film follows an insurance professional who goes into business with another man to capture people's ideas while they are dreaming so he can use them to create new ones.

Themes explored include technology through science fiction (including dream-sharing), philosophy (such as solipsism), physics (e.g., quantum physics), and psychology (e.g., self-actualization).

Inception's plot revolves around Dom Cobb who has been tasked with infiltrating Saito Kiryu’s company before it launches its most advanced program yet: inception - a new way for people to experience dreams within their own bodies without having any memory of them afterward. While attempting this feat Cobb learns more about himself than he ever thought possible as well as discovers what really happens when we die, but most importantly he realizes that there is no place in this world where you can escape from yourself!

Interstellar

Interstellar is a science fiction movie that was released in 2014. It stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain. The film was directed by Christopher Nolan and written by Jonathan Nolan (Christopher's brother). The movie follows a crew of astronauts traveling through space to find another habitable planet to inhabit after Earths resources become depleted by global warming and pollution caused by humans' industrialization.

Shutter Island

Shutter Island is a 2004 American psychological thriller film directed by Martin Scorsese and based on Dennis Lehane's 2003 novel of the same name. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Kingsley, and Mark Ruffalo as U.S. Marshals investigating missing patients from a hospital for the criminally insane located on Shutter Island (the fictional name used to refer to the facility). The film also features a number of other actors including Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkson and Max von Sydow.[5][6]

Dunkirk

Dunkirk is a movie about the evacuation of Dunkirk, France during World War II. The film was directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh. It received critical acclaim when it was released in 2017 and was nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Cinematography ( Hoyte van Hoytema), Best Sound Editing (Wylie Stateman), and Best Sound Mixing (Alex Gibson). The plot follows four men from different nationalities who are trapped on land during an evacuation from France: a British soldier named Tommy; a French sailor called Michael; an Irish airman named Peter; and an English civilian fisherman called Paul. Together they must find their way back home as German forces surround them on land while fighting off attacks from enemy aircraft overhead seeking out targets for their gunships to bomb or strafe—all while trying not get killed themselves!

The Revenant

The Revenant is a revenge movie that's almost too good to be true. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy as two men on a fur-trapping expedition in the 1820s, who are betrayed by their guide and left for dead by another team member (Domhnall Gleeson). When DiCaprio's character manages to survive and make his way back to civilization, he sets out on a journey of self-discovery that takes him through many trials and tribulations.

The film was directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu—known for films like Birdman or The Revenant—and based on Michael Punke’s novel. It premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2015 where it won several awards including Best Director for Inarritu; Best Cinematography; Best Makeup & Hair Design; Best Sound Editing; Best Sound Mixing etc., making it one of the most awarded movies ever made!

Parasite

The parasite is a psychological thriller set in Spain. It stars Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, with the latter playing a character called Gomez. The movie follows Lawrence's character as she moves into a new house with her husband, his family and their children. She soon discovers that they are parasites—in other words, people who take pleasure in eating others' flesh.

Joker

The Joker is a 2019 American crime film directed by Todd Phillips and written by Scott Silver, Todd Phillips, and Martin Scorsese. It stars Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck and Robert De Niro as Murray Franklin. The film follows Arthur Fleck's transformation into one of Gotham City's most famous criminals, a role that eventually becomes his obsession after he suffers from extreme depression following the death of his wife (played by Amy Adams).

The story line follows an unnamed man who goes insane after witnessing the death of his wife at the hands of corrupt police officers. He then decides to take revenge on those responsible for her murder by becoming one himself: an eccentric criminal known only as "The Joker".

Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody is about the life of Freddie Mercury, a singer in a band called Queen. This movie is about how he became famous and his life as an artist. The movie was directed by Bryan Singer, who also directed X-men: Apocalypse and Superman Returns.

The film opens with scenes from Queen's 1971 performance at the Wembley Stadium concert where they performed "Bohemian Rhapsody" on stage before an audience of 70,000 people (the largest crowd ever assembled for one event). At this point we learn that Freddie Mercury had been struggling with hepatitis since 1975 but refused to see a doctor because he believed it would ruin his voice; instead, he used steroids to keep himself healthy enough so that he could continue singing while also writing songs like "We Will Rock You" or "(We Are) The Champions".

Get Out

Get Out is a horror movie that was released in 2017, and directed by Jordan Peele. The movie is about racism and how it affects black people, specifically African Americans. It's set in the modern day but focuses on events from the 70s through the 90s when African Americans were still being mistreated by white people who didn't understand them or their culture.

The main character is Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) who goes to visit his white girlfriend Rose’s family for the weekend after she invites him over for dinner at her parent’s house where he meets Dean (Bradley Whitford), Missy (Catherine Keener), Georgina (Allison Williams), Peter Jackson Jr., Larry Hoover Sr., & Vernon Best Sr.. These characters are all stereotypes based off of real life situations where you have one kid with a funny name like “Vernon Best” with parents who are both named Vernon Best; another kid named Larry Hoover Sr.; another kid named Peter Jackson Jr.; another kid named Larry Hoover Sr.; etcetera until we reach our final character which happens to be played by Michael B Jordan!!!

Bird Box

Bird Box is a Netflix original film that’s based on the novel of the same name by Josh Malerman. It follows a group of people who are forced to stay indoors after they start seeing disturbed birds appear around them. The movie stars Sandra Bullock and Sarah Paulson, along with John Malkovich and Trevante Rhodes in supporting roles.

Bird Box is filled with suspenseful sequences and intense situations where characters must deal with what they see when it comes time for them to open their windows or doors (or just go outside). There's also an element of mystery about what exactly causes this phenomena—whether it's supernatural or natural—and how everyone else responds when faced with these events happening all around them at once; many feel threatened but don't know why!

 The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

This is one of my favorite films, and I'm not even a huge fan of prison dramas. It's an incredible portrayal of hope in the face of hopelessness, with a cast that includes Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins, and Clancy Brown as two prisoners who help each other survive through their shared experiences. The film won several awards including Best Picture at both Golden Globes and Oscars as well as being ranked #1 on AFI's list of 100 Greatest Movies Ever Made!
